Sports massage, deep tissue massage and injury therapy. Totnes, Devon.

I am a highly qualified and experienced massage therapist, specialising in sports massage, deep tissue massage and injury therapy in Totnes, Devon. Over the years I have worked with life-changing injuries, postural imbalance, chronic pain, trauma, anxiety and stress alongside supporting sports teams and universities. I am qualified to the highest level in sports massage and injury work and offer specifically tailored sessions to treat different areas of the body.

Sessions will work to release tight muscles, relieve stress and anxiety, restore movement, realign muscle fibres and promote healing.

I use soft flannel sheets and fleecy blankets so that you can feel warm and comfortable during sessions (no horrible scratchy sports massage towels!). The oils I use are from Naturally Thinking - a sustainable, ethical and natural UK based company.

If we are working on painful areas of the body I encourage open communication so that you can receive the treatment that best meets your needs and feels as comfortable as possible.

I am also trained in Swedish massage and aromatherapy, and a number of clients choose to have this integrated into their sports massage or deep tissue massage sessions, for example by having 30 minutes of treatment followed by 30 minutes of relaxation, or by adding a head massage at the end. For many, this helps if painful work needs to be done during the session. I am also able to accommodate those who find sports massage too painful but would like to receive treatment by using more comfortable techniques such as NMT (Neuromuscular Technique - pressure point work).

My clinic room can be found on the first floor at Chapel House Studios in Totnes. Booking in advance is essential as spaces fill up quickly. If you can't get the space you would like, please ask to be put on the waiting list and I'll let you know if there are any cancellations.

I have previously worked across many areas including:

Chronic long-term conditions, such as scoliosis, occupational related back pain, sciatica, frozen shoulder and carpal tunnel syndrome

Fatigue, stress, anxiety and insomnia

Trauma

Postural imbalances

Back and neck pain

Soft tissue injuries

Rehabilitation from injury

Tension headaches

Maintenance work for athletes/those in training for events and marathons

Restoring mobility and improving flexibility

Please Note: All massage appointments are spaced a minimum of 15 minutes apart so that you can actually receive hands on massage work for the full time you've booked. So a 1 hour appointment = 1 hour hands on massage time.

If you're on a tight schedule it's worth knowing that your appointment may be up to 10 minutes longer than your official booking time in order to allow time for consultation, getting dressed and making your next appointment.

Prior to your first session, you will be emailed a brief medical history form to complete.
